ESTHETICAL ANALYSIS

Smiling is the result of the contraction of several muscles of the face in order to express a feeling to the interlocutor.

Teeth, gums, muscles and facial lines are the different components of a smile.

It is the result of several actions;

A feeling will provoke the contraction of facial muscles that will uncover the teeth and gums.

A harmonious smile must always remain natural.

The harmony of the smile is the result of a balanced relationship between the teeth and the gums visible in the smile. The right-left symmetry must also be respected, and all this must fit perfectly with the lines and shape of the face.

Therefore, an aesthetic analysis of the smile will allow us to determine, based on photos and drawings, how it is possible to harmonize a smile.

The aesthetic analysis is accompanied by an understanding of the patient’s expectations.

What does he want to change?

The shape of the teeth, position, shade, wear, widen the smile, balance it, are the gums too visible ?

The smile photographs taken by the dentist will allow the patient to better understand their smile and determine what they want from their dentist.

The natural rendering of the result, crucial in the success of the treatment, will depend on the practitioner’s sensitivity inhearing and understanding the patient’s request, and on the dexterity of the dentist and his prosthetist.

The age of the patient, the shape of his face, his character, his smile are to be taken into account.

Why Dental Fillings Are Important

Once the aesthetic analysis is done, treatment can be proposed to the patient.

Based on these elements, a wax model pre-visualizing the final dentition can be made by the dental technician and shown to the patient: the WAX UP.

This wax simulation can then be transferred in resin into the patient’s mouth, without any dental preparation, in order to better appreciate the integration of this dentition in the face: the MOCK UP.
